Waitakere Home & Garden Show Complements New Housing Boom
The sound of hammers and saws are being heard throughout Waitakere as a wave of new houses spring up. From 23-25 May, there will be another sound – the buzz of show visitors as ideas and information are gathered and exchanged at the Waitakere Home & Garden Show. For three days from Friday through to Sunday, The Trusts Arena will be the ‘go to’ place for fantastic show-only specials and the latest innovations in home improvements.
Show organiser, Daniel Joll, says “The event is perfect for anyone looking to build or furnish a new house, because it brings together over 160 exhibitors, all showcasing their products and services in the one place. It’s a one-stop shop for renovators too. There will be everything from new-home builders, kitchen and bathrooms, to heating, outdoor furniture and landscapers – and that’s just for starters.”
“A host of new exhibitors means that there will be even greater variety than before, with the debut of sought-after products like soft furnishings and in-wall vacuums. We know that visitors will love our garden section this year too, which has many first-time exhibitors launching fresh and innovative products.“ Mr. Joll said.
Show goers will also be thrilled to hear that Niue Tourism is offering a tropical holiday for two as the grand prize. In association with More FM, this includes flights and accommodation to Niue Island for seven days staying at the Matavai Resort, plus transfers, an orientation tour and breakfast each morning. Visitors need only provide their contact details on arrival to enter.
As if that weren’t enough, entrants go into a draw to win $2,000 worth of Resene vouchers as well, which can be spent on Resene paint, wallpaper or curtains. The winners of both competitions will be drawn at the end of the Show and announced on The Breeze, the following Tuesday.
A series of free daily seminars will add to the wealth of expert advice, by covering building, gardening, kitchens, colour choice and water conservation. The Sculptor of the Year competition has enjoyed renewed popularity, with an impressive collection of sculptures on display, while the Resene Paint-a-Pot and Paint-a-Gnome Challenge will provide fun for all the family.
