WTO AND PACIFIC ISLANDS FORUM SECRETARIAT FORGE IMPROVED TIES
Director-General Pascal Lamy and the Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, Tuiloma Neroni Slade, signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 28 November 2012, in Apia, Samoa. “Through this MoU, the two organizations will work together to provide trade-related technical assistance to the Forum Island Countries of the Pacific Islands Forum”, Director-General Pascal Lamy said.

UKRAINE URGED TO WITHDRAW REQUEST FOR RENEGOTIATION OF TARIFF COMMITMENTS
At the Council for Trade in Goods meeting on 26 November, 23 delegations issued a joint statement urging Ukraine to withdraw its request to renegotiate tariff commitments on a wide range of products. Several delegations expressed concern over trade actions by the Russian Federation and Brazil.

L’OMC ET LE SECRÉTARIAT DU FORUM DES ÎLES DU PACIFIQUE RENFORCENT LEURS LIENS
Aujourd’hui, 28 novembre 2012, le Directeur général, Pascal Lamy, et le Secrétaire général du Secrétariat du Forum des îles du Pacifique, Tuiloma Neroni Slade, ont signé, à Apia (Samoa), un Mémorandum d’accord d’une durée de cinq ans.“En vertu de ce Mémorandum d’accord, les deux organisations travailleront ensemble afin de fournir une assistance technique liée au commerce aux pays insulaires du Forum des îles du Pacifique”, a déclaré le Directeur général, Pascal Lamy.

L’UKRAINE PRIÉE DE RETIRER SA DEMANDE DE RENÉGOCIATION DES ENGAGEMENTS TARIFAIRES
À la réunion du Conseil du commerce des marchandises du 26 novembre, 23 délégations ont publié une déclaration conjointe priant l’Ukraine de retirer sa demande de renégociation des engagements tarifaires concernant une vaste gamme de produits. Plusieurs délégations se sont dites préoccupées par les mesures commerciales adoptées par la Fédération de Russie et par le Brésil.

LA OMC Y LA SECRETARÍA DEL FORO DE LAS ISLAS DEL PACÍFICO AFIANZAN SUS LAZOS
Hoy, 28 de noviembre de 2012, en Apia (Samoa), el Director General de la OMC, Pascal Lamy, y el Secretario General de la secretaría del Foro de las Islas del Pacífico, Tuiloma Neroni Slade, firmaron un memorándum de entendimiento de cinco años de duración. El Director General, Pascal Lamy, dijo lo siguiente: “En virtud de este memorándum de entendimiento las dos organizaciones trabajarán conjuntamente para prestar asistencia técnica relacionada con el comercio a los países del Foro de las Islas del Pacífico”.

INSTAN A UCRANIA A RETIRAR SU SOLICITUD DE RENEGOCIACIÓN DE COMPROMISOS ARANCELARIOS
En la reunión del Consejo del Comercio de Mercancías, celebrada el 26 de noviembre, 23 delegaciones presentaron una declaración conjunta en la que instaban a Ucrania a retirar su solicitud de renegociación de los compromisos arancelarios sobre una amplia gama de productos. Varias delegaciones expresaron preocupación por las medidas comerciales de la Federación de Rusia y del Brasil.
