Islands to tell stories of renewable energy use

‘Private sector engagement with least developed countries (LDCs) for tourism-led growth and inclusive sustainable development’ was the theme for this year’s World Export Development Forum that was held in Istanbul, Turkey, earlier this month. .

PNG bank signs up 100,000th savings account

In a country where banking services are hard to expand beyond urban and semi-urban areas because of deficient infrastructure, difficult terrain as well as isolated and thinly spread populations in remote locations, it is a commendable achievement: Last week, Papua New Guinea’s Nationwide Microbank reached the milestone of 100,000 savings accounts.

After contributing significantly to Samoa’s sporting infrastructure to help it to successfully host the South Pacific Games in 2007, China is now talking about some serious investment in infrastructure as well as other sectors of Samoa’s economy.

Islands to tell stories of renewable energy use

The Apia, Samoa based Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) is commissioning a series of documentaries in which eleven Pacific Island countries will tell stories about their experience with their renewable energy projects.
