THUGS BREAK INTO NEWS OFFICE
SUVA (Fiji Sun/Pacific Media Watch): Thieves broke into the Pacific Islands News Association (PINA) headquarters in Suva last weekend and stole $13,000 worth of items.
Assistant police spokesman Suliano Tevita yesterday said the theft happened between January 15 and 16.
“The thieves forced open the front door before cutting through the grilles,” he said.
Sergeant Tevita said the thieves ransacked the office and took off with a digital camera, three cam corders, two headsets, four laptop computers and three bottles of bourbon.
“The total cost of items missing is about $13,000.”
Sergeant Tevita has called on members of the public to keep a look out for people who will be out on the streets trying to sell the laptops.
“If you see anyone doing this or have any information about it please report it to the nearest police station,” he said.
