Thank you Thakur, for this excellent and realistic portrayal of one of NZ's finest diplomats. Just 2 months ago I was honoured to sing at Tia's residence in Rarotonga in an evening of opera - a musical genre he loved (and understood well!), amongst many other things. Of the hundreds of concerts I do, there are some that, for various reasons, remain incredibly special, and this one is in that category, primarily due to the extraordinary warmth, deep understanding, intelligence, honesty and generous spirit of a remarkable human being. We are deeply saddened by this untimely loss and also extend our thoughts and prayers to his family.
